Subject: | Intermittent no OnStar Microphone with Current or history DTC B2455 |
Models: | 2007 Saturn Aura |
The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.
Some 2007 MY Saturn Aura customers may report an intermittent or solid red OnStar LED and a possible poor and/or a no microphone audio concern. Furthermore, a diagnostic probe with the Tech 2 may find a history or current DTC B2455. A possible cause for this concern is a loose connection @ connector C206.
GM Technical Assistance has had a number of calls regarding a loose connection @ connector C206 where the CPA (Connector Position Assurance) was not fully seated allowing circuit 655 (Cellular Microphone) to short to battery voltage. Locate connector C206 (behind the left side dash panel cover) inspect circuits 655 and 1489 (Bare wire) and repair as needed.
Important Note: The OnStar VCIM (Vehicle Communication Interface Module) should not be replaced unless directed by GM Technical Assistance.
Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
