Condition/Concern:
There is no sound from the radio, but the display works fine. The radio stations can be changed and the volume on the display will also change.
Recommendation/Instructions:
- Pull the following fuse that powers the amplifier. On a Monte Carlo, this is the fuse labeled (AMP), On an ION this is fuse 21 labeled (RADIO), On a VUE this is the fuse labeled (PREM AUDIO) and on the Saturn Aura this fuse is listed as Audio AMP
(Fuse 13) in the RBEC.
- Reinstall the fuse, then recheck the radio for sound.
• | If the sound returned after cycling the fuse, replace the Amplifier/Booster. On the Monte Carlo, this is called the Audio Power Booster and can be found in the parts catalog in group 9651. |
• | If the sound did not return, follow the eSI Document for (Speakers Inoperative - All) |
- | Document ID# 1686457 for the Monte Carlo, or Document ID# 1448888 for the ION/VUE |
- | Document ID# 1843082 for the Saturn Aura. |
