This PI Updated To Add Important Note About Scanning All Modules. Please Discard PIT4528.

The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.

A condition has been identified that could turn on the "Service ESC" message on the DIC. This condition is normally associated with the one if not all of these codes (C0561 C0196 C0186 U2137). It has been found in other cases that the wiring going to the "YAW" sensor (under the center console) was Shorted To ground (STG) between the SDM and the shifter assembly.

Important: It is VERY important to scan all modules for codes as certain Powertrain codes can cause a C0561 to set.

If you have the above code/s remove the center console assembly and then inspect for a wiring STG around the SDM/shifter mechanism area, and repair wiring as necessary.

Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
