This PI was superseded to update Recommendation/Instructions with an important note about it not being necessary to program a replacement BDU/BECM. Please discard PIP4272B.
The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.
Due to a shortage of circuit boards, which are part of the hybrid battery pack, the following battery pack assembly part numbers are now on restriction through the PQC:
Part Number(s) | Vehicle |
---|---|
25953382 15940523 | 2007 Saturn VUE |
25918391 | 2008 Saturn VUE |
25922540 | 2007-2008 Saturn AURA and 2008 Chevrolet Malibu |
For most situations sub-assembly components can be used to repair these vehicles instead of replacing the hybrid battery pack assembly. A few of the situations you may encounter are listed below. Review the information below and perform the recommended repairs as necessary. If a complete battery pack assembly is still required, please contact PQC at 1-866-654-7654 to place your order.

Important: As mentioned in the Control Module References Section of SI, it is not necessary to program replacement BDUs/BECMs since they come pre-programmed. This is also true if a complete hybrid battery assembly is replaced.
Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
