The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.
Condition/Concern:
A serviceability concern has been identified when replacing the mode door actuator for the HVAC system.
Recommendation/Instructions:
If you are replacing the HVAC mode door actuator assembly, you must be careful when removing the HVAC mode door CAM (left side of the case) assembly. This Cam assembly when removed from the HVAC case has 3 white cam followers (attached to each door) under it.
Important: DEALERS ARE TO BE VERY CAREFUL NOT TO PUSH ON THE WHITE CAM FOLLOWERS.
Pushing on the WHITE CAM FOLLOWERS will cause the doors to fall inside the HVAC case. If the door falls inside the case, the entire I/P Dash carrier and case assembly will have to be removed to successfully complete the repair.
Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
