This bulletin is being revised to update the models. Please discard Corporate Bulletin Number 07-07-30-019 (Section 07 -- Transmission/Transaxle).
Some customers may comment on poor vehicle performance and the check engine light being illuminated. Upon investigation, the technician may find any one or a combination of DTCs P0716, P0717, P0722, P0723, P0751, P0756, P0776, P0796, P2714 or P2723 set.
Clear the codes and take a center triggered snapshot of the transmission data table while the condition occurs. For assistance in capturing a snapshot, refer to Corporate Bulletin Number 07-07-30-010. Examine input and output speed signals on a graph and look for signals that vary up and down or drop to zero at a steady speed.
Important: When a speed sensor code sets, the Tech 2® will show the correct speed as a calculated value inserted by the TCM.
If snapshot data indicates an issue with a speed sensor, replace the affected speed sensor.
Important: It may be necessary to reduce the maximum number for the graph scale to be able to see the line variation. In this example the maximum on the scale was reduced to 3000.
