Ignition | C0897 00 | C0897 00 | -- | -- |
The power steering control module (PSCM) receives a power mode message from the body control module (BCM) via a serial data circuit. When a power mode ON message is received, the PSCM compares it to the state of its igniting voltage circuit.
Ignition ON.
• | The PSCM power mode message and the state of the ignition 1 circuit do not agree. |
• | The PSCM ignition voltage circuit is shorted to ground, or open. |
• | DTCs U2100, U2105, U2107, or U2109 are not set. |
• | DTC C0897 00 is stored in memory. |
• | The DIC displays the POWER STEERING warning message. |
• | Steering assist is present for the remainder of the ignition cycle but will not be present on the following ignition ON cycle if the malfunction still exists. |
• | A current DTC will clear when the malfunction is no longer present. |
• | A history DTC will clear after 100 consecutive malfunction-free ignition cycles. |
• | Inspect the 2-amp EPS fuse of the BCM for an open. |
• | Inspect for a poor connection at the BCM. |
• | Inspect for a poor connection at the PSCM. |
