Radiator Surge Tank Outlet Hose/Pipe Replacement LY7

Component Name

Warning: With a pressurized cooling system, the coolant temperature in the radiator can be considerably higher than the boiling point of the solution at atmospheric pressure. Removal of the surge tank cap, while the cooling system is hot and under high pressure, causes the solution to boil instantaneously with explosive force. This will cause the solution to spew out over the engine, the fenders, and the person removing the cap. Serious bodily injury may result.

Preliminary Procedure

Partially drain the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling.

Surge Tank Outlet Hose

Procedure

Reposition the 2 surge tank hose clamps using the J 38185 .

Radiator Surge Tank Outlet Hose

Procedure:

  1. Using J 38185 to reposition of the radiator surge tank outlet hose clamps.
  2. Remove the radiator surge tank outlet hose from the surge tank and radiator outlet hose.
