Preliminary Procedures

  1. Remove the battery tray. Refer to Battery Tray Replacement.
  2. Support the transaxle.

Transaxle Mount to Transaxle Bolt (Qty: 3)

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

Tighten
50 N·m (37 lb ft)

Transaxle Mount to Structural Rail Bolt (Qty: 4)

Tighten
25 N·m (18 lb ft)

Transaxle Mount

Transmission Mount Replacement - Left Side 3.5 (LZ4) With MN5

Removal Procedure

  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle.
  2. Remove the left front tire and wheel. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation.
  3. Remove the left splash shield. Refer to Radiator Air Lower Baffle and Deflector Replacement.
  4. Using a suitable floor jack and block of wood, support the powertrain.

  5. Object Number: 1229798  Size: SH
  6. Remove the transaxle mount lower nuts from the frame.

  7. Object Number: 1229801  Size: SH
  8. Remove the transmission mount upper nuts from the transmission mount bracket.
  9. Use the floor jack to raise the powertrain enough to remove the transmission mount.
  10. Remove the transaxle mount from the frame.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the transaxle mount to the frame.

  2. Object Number: 1229798  Size: SH
  3. Install the transmission mount to frame bolts. Hand tighten only.
  4. Use the jackstand to lower the transmission mount bracket on to the transmission mount studs.

  5. Object Number: 1229801  Size: SH
  6. Install the transmission mount to bracket upper nut. Hand tighten only.
  7. Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

  8. Tighten the transmission mount nut and bolts.
  9. • Tighten the transmission mount upper nuts to 50 N·m (37 lb ft).
    • Tighten the transmission mount lower bolts to 50 N·m (37 lb ft).
  10. Install the left splash shield. Refer to Radiator Air Lower Baffle and Deflector Replacement.
  11. Install the left front tire and wheel. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation.
  12. Lower the vehicle.
