Battery Replacement without LAT

1. Remove the battery box cover (1).



2. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection.
3. Disconnect the positive battery cable (2).



4. Remove the battery tie down bolt (1).
5. Remove the battery hold down retainer (2).
6. Remove the battery from the battery tray (3).

1. Position the battery in the battery tray (3).
2. Install the battery hold down retainer (2).

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

3. Install the battery hold down retainer bolt (1) and tighten to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).



4. Install the positive battery cable (2) and tighten to 10 N·m (89 lb in).
5. Install the negative battery cable and tighten the bolt to 10 N·m (89 lb in).



6. Install the battery box cover (1).

Battery Replacement LAT

Warning: Do not tip the battery over a 45 degree angle or acid could spill causing serious personal injury.

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection.
2. Disengage the two side retaining tabs on the positive battery cable cover (1), and open the cover.
3. Loosen the positive battery cable nut (2).
4. Remove the positive battery cable (3) from the battery.
5. Reposition the positive battery cable out of the way.



6. Remove the battery hold down retainer bolt (1) and retainer (2).
7. Remove the battery (3) from the vehicle.

Warning: Do not tip the battery over a 45 degree angle or acid could spill causing serious personal injury.

1. Install the battery (3) to the vehicle.

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

2. Install the battery hold down retainer (2) and bolt (1). Tighten the bolt to 15 N·m (11 lb ft).



3. Position the positive battery cable to the battery.
4. Install the positive battery cable (3) to the battery.
5. Tighten the positive battery cable nut (2) to 10 N·m (89 lb in).
6. Close the positive battery cable cover (1).
7. Connect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection.
