Rear Compartment Lid Name Plate Assembly

Tip

    • When removing protective liners from adhesive tape, be careful not to touch tape with hands and do not allow tape to come in contact with dirt or any foreign matter prior to adhesion.
    • Use a J 25070 or equivalent to remove old nameplate. Clean all adhesive from rear compartment lid, wipe surface dry with a clean lint-free towel prior to installing new nameplate.

Rear Compartment Lid Applique Emblem (AURA)

Caution: Refer to Exterior Trim Emblem Removal Caution in the Preface section.

Procedure

  1. The part and surface should be 21°C (70°F) prior to installation. The vehicle should remain 21°C (70°F) for one hour after assembly to allow adhesive to develop sufficient bond strength.
  2. Use a J 25070 Heat Gun or equivalent to remove the old emblem/nameplate. Clean all adhesive from rear compartment lid and wipe the surface dry with a clean lint-free towel prior to installing the new emblem/nameplate.
  3. When removing protective liners from the adhesive tape, be careful not to touch tape with hands and do not allow tape to come in contact with dirt or any foreign matter prior to adhesion.
  4. Close the rear compartment lid.
  5. Wet out the emblem/nameplate and ensure full adhesion of the emblem/nameplate to the rear compartment lid is made.

Procedure
