Preliminary Procedure

Remove the hood insulator and disconnect the windshield washer hose. Refer to Hood Insulator Replacement

Hood Strut

Tip
Use a flat bladed screwdriver to release the hood strut retaining tabs.

Upper Hood Hinge Bolt (Qty: 4)

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

Tip
Use a grease pencil to mark the alignment of the hinges before removing.

Tighten
25 N·m (18 lb ft)

Hood

Warning:  When a hood hold open device is being removed or installed, provide alternate support to avoid the possibility of damage to the vehicle or personal injury.

Procedure

1. Disconnect any electrical harnesses from the hood before removing.
2. Transfer any parts as needed.
