The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.
Condition/Concern:
The GM Remote Start is not compatible with the BAS hybrids, regardless if the vehicle has option AP8. There is an error on the GM Accessory Website. The GM Accessory website does not exclude the BAS hybrid.
Option AP8 is described as an extended range remote keyless entry/RVS ready. The hood switch (already on these vehicles) is part of the hybrid system to prevent a change of mode or Auto Start/Stop when a technician is working on the vehicle.
Recommendation/Instructions:
Do not attempt to install RVS on these vehicles.
Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
