The electronic brake control module (EBCM) disables the traction control system (TCS) and/or the vehicle stability enhancement system (VSES) when other electronic control modules fail to provide valid data necessary for the EBCM functionality. These other electronic control modules may or may not set DTCs for their invalid data.
The ignition is ON.
The EBCM receives an invalid serial data message from another module. A faulty EBCM will not cause this fault.
• | The EBCM may disable the TCS and/or the VSES. |
• | A DIC message and/or a warning indicator may be displayed. |
• | The condition for the DTC is no longer present. |
• | The EBCM clears the history DTC when a current DTC is not detected in 100 consecutive drive cycles. |
• | This DTC indicates EBCM has received an invalid signal from another ECU. Invalid signals may be received from the ECM, TCM, BCM, or EPS if equipped. |
• | The Tech2 Enhanced Diagnostic Information will indicate which signal/module should be diagnosed. |
