Rear Electrical Center or Junction Block Replacement Sedan

Removal Procedure

Important: When replacing the control unit, before removing the control unit, carry out a "Reset" with TECH 2. Refer to Control Module References.

    Caution: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in the Preface section.

  1. Disconnect the battery.
  2. Open the service flap.

    3. Object Number: 1936973 Size: LF
  3. Disconnect the wiring harness plug for the rear electrical center.

    4. Disconnect the 6 wiring harness plugs (1, 3).

  4. Release the rear electrical center.

    5. Remove the nut (arrow).

    Important: Only for vehicles with park pilot control unit.

    Important: Please pay attention to this when replacing the rear electrical center. The rear electrical center contains the maximum number of relays and fuses. The rear electrical center will contain surplus relays and fuses.

  5. Remove the rear electrical center.

    6. Disconnect the park pilot control unit (2).

Installation Procedure

    Important: Only for vehicles with park pilot control unit.

  1. Insert the rear electrical center.

    2. Install the park pilot control unit.

  2. Install the rear electrical center.

    3. Tighten the nut.

  3. Connect the wiring harness plug for the rear electrical center.

    4. Connect the 6 wiring harness plugs.

  4. Close the service flap.
  5. Connect the battery.

    6. Important: When replacing the electrical center, after fitting the control unit, carry out a Program with TECH 2. Refer to Control Module References.

  6. For programming procedures, refer to Control Module References.

Rear Electrical Center or Junction Block Replacement Coupe

Removal Procedure

Important: When replacing the electrical center, before removing the control unit, carry out a "Reset" using TECH 2. Refer to Control Module References.

    Caution: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in the Preface section.

  1. Disconnect the battery.
  2. Open the liftgate.

    3. Object Number: 1942142 Size: LF
  3. Open the service flap.
  4. Release the rear electrical center.
    5. • Disconnect the 7 wiring harness plugs (1).
    • Remove the nut (2).
    • Disconnect the retaining lug.

    Object Number: 1942145 Size: SH
  5. Remove the rear electrical center.

    6. For vehicles with park pilot, disconnect the PAS control unit (1) at the rear.

Installation Procedure
  1. Insert the rear electrical center.

    2. For vehicles with park pilot, disconnect the PAS control unit at the rear.

  2. Install the rear electrical center.
    3. • Install in the retaining lug.
    • Tighten the nut.
    • Connect the 7 wiring harness plugs.
  3. Close the service flap.
  4. Connect the battery.

    5. Important: When replacing the electrical center, before removing the control unit, carry out a "Reset" using TECH 2. Refer to Control Module References.

  5. Program the volatile memories. Refer to Control Module References.
