Removal Procedure

    Caution: Refer to SIR Inflator Module Handling and Storage Caution in the Preface section.

    Caution: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in the Preface section.

  1. Disconnect the battery.
  2. Wait 1 minute for airbag to deactivate.

    3. Object Number: 1937619 Size: LF

    Important: Ensure that the retaining wire is not bent.

  3. Remove the airbag.
    4. • Turn the steering wheel 90 degrees (I).
    • Push the retaining wire in the direction of the steering column using a small screwdriver in the service opening (II) and remove the airbag module.
    • Release and disconnect the wiring harness plug.

Installation Procedure
  1. Install the airbag.
    2. • Connect and latch the wiring harness plug.
    • Install the 2 clips.
  2. Perform a readiness inspection.
  3. Connect the battery.
