Removal Procedure

    Caution: Refer to Brake Dust Caution in the Preface section.

    Caution: Refer to Brake Fluid Irritant Caution in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 1937932  Size: LH

    Important: Always replace both brake discs on one axle.

  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
  2. Remove the front wheel. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation .
  3. Release the brake hose from the mounting on the spring strut.
  4. • Remove the retaining plate (1) for the brake hose.
    • Remove the brake hose out of the mounting.
  5. Remove the bolts (2) for the brake carrier from the steering knuckle.
  6. Remove the brake caliper with the brake carrier and suspend from the spring strut support pipe.
  7. Remove the locking bolt (3).
  8. Remove the brake disc.

Installation Procedure

    Important: Ensure that the contact surfaces are clean and free from burrs.

  1. Clean the mating surfaces between the brake disc and the wheel hub.
  2. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  3. Install the brake disc to the front wheel hub with a detent screw.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the detent screw to 7 N·m (62 lb in).

    Important: Clean thread and insert bolts with locking compound.

  5. Install the brake carrier to the steering knuckle with the brake caliper and brake linings.
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the brake carrier to 100 N·m (74 lb ft).

  7. Install the brake hose to the spring strut.
  8. • Install the brake hose to the mounting.
    • Install the retaining plate.
  9. Install the 2 front wheels. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation .
