Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 1944397 Size: SH
  1. Open the hood.

    2. Warning: Refer to Battery Disconnect Warning in the Preface section.

  2. Disconnect the battery.
    3. • Detach the negative connection from the negative terminal.
    • Loosen the nut.
  3. Remove the oil level indicator guide tube (2).
    4. • Remove the bolt (1).
    • Remove the oil level indicator.
  4. Raise the vehicle by its full height.

    5. Note: If the engine oil level is at maximum, some oil may emerge when drawing out the oil level indicator guide tube

  5. Place a drain pan underneath.
  6. Remove the oil level indicator guide tube.

Installation Procedure
  1. Insert the oil level indicator guide tube.

    2. Use a NEW gasket.

  2. Lower the vehicle by its full height.

    3. Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

  3. Install the oil level indicator guide tube.

    4. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt to 8 N·m (71 lb in).

  4. Insert the oil level indicator.
  5. Connect the battery.

    6. Attach the negative connection to the negative terminal.

    Tighten
    Tighten the nut to 5 N·m (44 lb in).

  6. Fill up the engine oil.
  7. For programming procedures, refer to Control Module References.
  8. Close the hood.
