Removal Procedure

    Warning: Refer to Battery Disconnect Warning in the Preface section.

  1. Disconnect battery.
  2. Remove the airbag. Refer to Steering Wheel Inflatable Restraint Module Replacement.

    3. Object Number: 1941070 Size: LH
  3. Remove the horn control.
    4. • Disconnect the 2 wiring harness plugs (1).
    • Remove the 3 bolts (2).
    • Remove the horn switch.
    • Remove the signal switch board (3).

Installation Procedure

    Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

  1. Install the horn switch.
    2. • Insert the signal switch board.
    • Insert the signal switch control.

    Tighten
    Tighten the 3 bolts to 2.5 N·m (22 lb in).

    • Connect the 2 wiring harness plug.
  2. Install the airbag unit. Refer to Steering Wheel Inflatable Restraint Module Replacement.
    3. • Connect and lock the wiring harness plug.
    • Clamp the airbag unit in place.
  3. Connect the battery.
  4. Carry out the readiness test.

    5. After ignition ON, the airbag system readiness check light comes on for 4 seconds and then goes out.
