Removal Procedure

    Note: 

       • In the presence of fuel vapors or escaping fuel - observe safety regulations and national legislation. Store drained fuel in a suitable, sealable container.
       • The vehicle fuel system is designed in petrol engines as a return-free fuel system.

  1. Open the hood.
  2. Warning: Refer to Battery Disconnect Warning in the Preface section.

  3. Disconnect the battery.
  4. • Disconnect the ground clamp from the ground terminal.
    • Remove the nut.
  5. Raise the vehicle all the way.

  6. Object Number: 1938290  Size: LH
  7. Remove the 4 line brackets (1) from the vehicle underbody.
  8. Remove the 4 bolts.


    Object Number: 1938292  Size: LF
  9. Remove the intermediate fuel pipe or the center vent line.
  10. • Remove the line from the 4 brackets (3).
    • Disconnect the 2 quick-release fittings (1 or 2) using SA9805E /KM-796-A.
    • Seal the line with KM-807 .

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the intermediate fuel pipe.
  2. • Install the 2 quick-release fittings.
    • Install the line into the 4 brackets.

    Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

  3. Install the 4 line brackets to the vehicle underbody.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the 4 bolts to 2.5 N·m (22 lb in).

  5. Lower the vehicle.
  6. Connect the battery.
  7. Install the ground cable.

  8. For programming procedures, refer to Control Module References.
  9. Close the hood.
