Removal Procedure

  1. Top up brake fluid reservoir to the MAX marking and seal.

  2. Object Number: 1937799  Size: LH
  3. Remove the front wheel.
  4. Note: Collect escaping brake fluid and seal aperture.

  5. Remove the banjo bolt (3) from the brake caliper.
  6. Remove the retaining plate (2).
  7. Remove the brake line connection (1) from the brake hose.
  8. Remove the brake hose from the mounting.

Installation Procedure

    Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

  1. Install the brake hose to the brake caliper with a banjo bolt and new seal rings.
  2. Tighten
    Tighten the brake hose banjo bolt to 40 N·m (30 lb ft).

    Note: 

       • If present, install the brake hose for IDS+ chassis. Note the installation dimension (I) of protector (arrow). Installation dimension (I) 53 mm.
       • Ensure that the brake hose is not twisted when installed.

  3. Install the brake line to the brake hose.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the brake line to brake hose to 14 N·m (124 lb in).

  5. Insert the brake hose in the bracket and slide on the retaining plate.

  6. Object Number: 1942956  Size: SH
  7. Install the wheel sensor wiring harness retaining clip (1).
  8. Install the front wheel.
  9. Tighten
    Tighten the front wheel bolts to 110 N·m (81 lb ft).

  10. Bleed the brake system and check for leaks. Refer to Hydraulic Brake System Bleeding.
  11. Top up the brake fluid level so that it reaches the mark MAX. Refer to Master Cylinder Reservoir Filling.
