Removal Procedure
- Top up the brake fluid reservoir to the MAX marking and seal.
- Remove the rear wheel.
Note: Collect the escaping brake fluid and seal the apertures.
- Remove the brake line connection (2) from the brake hose on vehicle underbody.
- Unscrew the banjo bolt (1) from the brake caliper.
- Remove the brake hose from the mounting.
• | Remove the mounting (3) from the rear axle. |
Installation Procedure
- Insert the brake hose in mounting.
• | Install the mounting to the rear axle. |
Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.
Note: Ensure that the brake hose is not twisted when installed.
- Install the brake hose to the brake caliper with a banjo bolt and new seal rings.
Tighten
Tighten the brake hose banjo bolt to 40 N·m (30 lb ft).
- Install the brake line to the brake hose with a clamping plate.
Tighten
Tighten to 14 N·m (124 lb in).
- Install the rear wheel. Refer to
Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation.
- Bleed the brake system and check for leaks. Refer to
Hydraulic Brake System Bleeding.
- Top up brake fluid level so that it reaches the mark MAX.
