KM-527-A Adjuster

Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 1938245  Size: SH
  1. Remove the front floor console. Refer to Front Floor Console Replacement.
  2. Remove the battery. Refer to Battery Replacement.
  3. Note: Do not remove the bolt.

  4. Release the gearshift rod.
  5. Loosen the bolt (1) for the relay point clamp.

  6. Remove the transmission control (1).
  7. • Remove the 4 bolts (2-4).
    • Pull out transmission control with the gearshift linkage from the bulkhead.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 1947356  Size: LF
  1. Install the transmission control (1).
  2. Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

    Note: Note gearshift linkage bellows in bulkhead.

  3. Feed the transmission control with the gearshift linkage through the bulkhead.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the four bolts (2-4) to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

  5. Lock the transmission control in adjustment position.
  6. • Push the transmission control to the left.
    • Lock the transmission control and shift lever housing with KM-527-A (1).

  7. Lock the transmission control shaft in the gearbox cover.
  8. • Turn the transmission control rod counterclockwise
      Direction of third gear.
    • Engage the locking pin (1) in the adjusting bore in the gearbox cover (arrow).

    Note: Do not change the position of the transmission control rod.

  9. Install the transmission control rod.
  10. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt (1) to 12 N·m (106 lb in) plus 180-225 degrees.

  11. Release the transmission control lock.
  12. Detach the KM-527-A (1).

    Note: The locking pin in the adjusting bore hole releases automatically when first shifted in the "R" direction, if necessary release the locking pin by hand.

  13. Release the locking pin in the gearbox cover.
  14. Inspect the ease of gear shifting.
  15. • With vehicle standing
    • With engine running
    • With clutch disengaged
  16. Install the battery. Refer to Battery Replacement.
  17. For programming procedures, refer to Control Module References.
  18. Install the front floor console. Refer to Front Floor Console Replacement.
