Makes 🢒 Saturn 🢒 2009 🢒 Astra 🢒 Transmission 🢒 Automatic Transmission - AF17-4 🢒 Rear Case Installation

    Object Number: 2002574 Size: SH
  1. Install the NEW 5 transmission case fluid passage seals (86, 87).

    2. Object Number: 2002571 Size: SH
  2. Coat the NEW 5 transmission case cover fluid seal rings (21) with ATF and install them to the transmission case cover (19).
  3. Place the forward clutch housing thrust bearing assembly (585) with grease on the transmission case cover (19).

    4. Object Number: 2002835 Size: SH
  4. Remove any packing material on the contacting surfaces of the transmission case cover (19) and transmission case assembly and wipe off oil on the contacting surfaces.

    5. Note: Be careful that there is no oil on the contacting surfaces of the case cover and transmission case assembly.

  5. Apply a 3 mm (1/8 in) bead of sealant GM P/N 89020326 (Canadian P/N 89021188) to the case cover as shown.

    6. Object Number: 2002836 Size: SH
  6. Install the transmission case cover (19).

    7. Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 2002837 Size: SH
  7. Install the 10 transmission case cover bolts (20). Tighten bolts to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).
