KM 6037 Adapter

For equivalent regional tools, refer to Special Tools.

  1. Install the front differential assembly (13) into the transmission case assembly (17).

  2. Object Number: 2002782  Size: SH
  3. Install the torque converter housing (10) onto the transmission case assembly.
  4. Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

  5. Temporally tighten the 15 torque converter housing bolts (801, 802, 813). Torque the bolts uniformly. Tighen bolts to 30 N·m (22 lb ft).

  6. Object Number: 2002783  Size: SH
  7. Rotate the differential in both directions to snug the bearing down.
  8. Using KM 6037 adapter and a torque meter, measure the preload (at starting) of the side bearings.
  9. • Starting Torque (New Bearing) 0.78-1.37 N·m (6.90-12.13 lb in).
    • Starting Torque (Reused Bearing) 0.39-0.69 N·m (3.45-6.11 lb in).
  10. If the preload is not within specification, remove the differential from the transaxle case. Re-select adjusting shim. Refer to Shim Size Specifications.
