Removal Procedure
- Disconnect the battery.
- Remove the front seat belt securing panel (1).
- Remove the seat belt from the front seat.
- Position the seat to the most forward position.
- Remove the driver seat, rear.
- Remove the front seat.
- Partly remove the front seat backrest paneling.
- Remove the side airbag.
- Remove the side airbag.
- Uncover the airbag cable harness.
- Remove the height adjuster trim panel.
- Remove the height adjuster.
- Remove the rear seat backrest adjuster wheel.
- Remove outer paneling.
- Remove the interior paneling.
- Remove the central wiring harness plug for seat in vehicles with heated seats.
- Uncover the wiring harness for seat heating, if equipped.
- Remove the front seat backrest.
- Remove the upholstery covering.
- Replace the upholstery pad.
Warning: Refer to Battery Disconnect Warning in the Preface section.
Note: Wait 1 minute for the airbag to deactivate.
Remove the bolt (2).
Remove the 2 bolts (1).
Note: Disconnect the wiring harness plug.
Remove from the front seat guide.
| • | Remove the paneling all around (I). |
| • | Release the 2 clamps (II). |
Remove the 3 bolts (1).
Release and disconnect the wiring harness plug.
Release with a plastic wedge.
Remove the 2 bolts (1) and remove the lever.
Release with a plastic wedge.
| • | Remove the 2 bolts (1, 3). |
| • | Remove front of paneling from the guide (2). |
| • | Remove the bolt (1). |
| • | Remove the paneling. |
Disconnect the connection.
Disconnect and uncover the wiring harness plug (arrows).
Remove the 3 cable ties (1).
Remove the 4 bolts (1, 2).
Remove the front seat backrest.
| • | Remove the upholstery covering from seat mount all the way around (arrows). |
| • | Remove the 16 upholstery clamps. |
| • | Remove the upholstery covering. |
Installation Procedure
- Install the upholstery covering to the pad.
- Install the pad with upholstery covering.
- Install the front seat backrest.
- Position the wiring harness for the seat heating, if equipped.
- Position the airbag cable harness.
- Install the central wiring harness plug for the seat.
- Install the interior paneling.
- Install the exterior paneling.
- Install the rear seat backrest adjuster wheel.
- Install the height adjuster.
- Install the height adjuster panel.
- Insert the side airbag.
- Fasten the side airbag.
- Fasten the front seat backrest paneling.
- Install the front seat.
- Install the front seat, rear.
- Reposition the seat to the original position.
- Install the seat belt at the front seat.
- Install the seat belt fastening panel.
- Connect the battery.
- For programming procedures, refer to Control Module References.
| • | Position the upholstery covering. |
| • | Install the 16 upholstery clamps. |
| • | Insert the pad with upholstery covering. |
| • | Fasten the upholstery covering to the seat mount all the way around. |
Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.
Tighten
Tighten the 4 bolts to 35 N·m (26 lb ft).
Secure with 4 cable tie.
Connect the plug.
Insert the paneling.
Tighten
Tighten the bolt to 2.5 N·m (22 lb in).
Insert the paneling.
Tighten
Tighten the 2 bolts to 35 N·m (26 lb ft).
Install the adjusting wheel.
Tighten
Tighten the 2 bolts to 35 N·m (26 lb ft).
Install the panel.
Note: Ensure correct wiring harness routing.
Connect and latch the wiring harness plug.
Tighten
Tighten the 3 bolts to 5 N·m (44 lb in).
| • | Re-Install the 2 clamps. |
| • | Fasten the paneling all around. |
Note: Connect the wiring harness plug.
Insert into front guide.
Tighten
Tighten the 2 bolt to 35 N·m (26 lb ft).
Tighten
Tighten the bolt to 20 N·m (15 lb ft).
