Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the front seat backrest. Refer to Front Seat Back Replacement .
  2. Remove the rotary handle, on vehicles with lumbar support.
  3. Remove the handle.

  4. Remove the armrest, on vehicles with armrests.
  5. Fold the driver seat armrest downwards, press armrest cover (1) to one side, pull out retaining clip (2) to front.

    Remove the armrest.

  6. Remove the active head restraints, on vehicles with head restraint guide sleeves.
  7. • Bend the standard wire release hook, wire diameter 1-1.5 mm (0.04-0.06 in), for active head restraint guide sleeve as in illustration I.
    • Mark the insertion depth of 50-55 mm (1.97-2.16 in).
    • Insert the release hook opposite the release button of the active headrest guide sleeve, release the guide sleeve and pull out upwards.

    Important: Do not damage upholstery covering.

  8. Remove the active head restraints, on vehicles without the head restraint guide sleeves.
  9. • Carefully guide the 2 small slotted head screws on the outer side of the head restraint guide sleeve until the lugs (I, arrows) are pressed together.
    • Pull out the head restraint guide sleeve upwards.

  10. Remove the upholstery covering.
  11. • Remove the upholstery covering from the seat mount all the way round (arrows).
    • Remove the 11 upholstery clamps.
    • Remove upholstery covering.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the upholstery covering.
  2. • Position the upholstery covering.
    • Install the 11 upholstery clamps.
    • Fasten upholstery covering to seat mount all the way round.
  3. Install the headrest guide sleeve.
  4. Push the headrest guide sleeve into the front seat backrest until it clicks.

  5. Install the armrest, on vehicles with armrests.
  6. Install the clamp.

    Insert the armrest.

  7. Install the rotary handle, on vehicles with lumbar support.
  8. Push on the handle.

  9. Install the front seat backrest. Refer to Front Seat Back Replacement .
