Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the front seat backrest. Refer to Front Seat Back Replacement .
  2. Remove the rotary handle, on vehicles with lumbar support.
  3. Remove the handle.

  4. Remove the armrest on vehicles with armrests.
  5. Fold the driver seat armrest downwards, press the armrest cover (1) to one side, pull out retaining clip (2) forwards.

    Remove the armrest.

  6. Remove active head restraints, on vehicles with head restraint guide sleeves.
  7. • Bend a standard wire release hook, wire diameter 1-1.5 mm (0.04-0.06 in), for active head restraint guide sleeve as in illustration I.
    • Mark insertion depth of 50-55 mm (1.97-2.16 in).
    • Insert release hook opposite the release button of active headrest guide sleeve, release guide sleeve and pull out upwards.

    Important: Do not damage upholstery covering.

  8. Remove active head restraints, on vehicles without head restraint guide sleeves.
  9. • Carefully guide two small slotted head screws on the outer side of the head restraint guide sleeve until the lugs (I, arrows) are pressed together.
    • Pull out head restraint guide sleeve upwards.

  10. Remove the upholstery covering.
  11. • Remove the upholstery covering from the seat mount all the way around (arrows).
    • Remove the 11 upholstery clamps.
    • Remove upholstery covering.
  12. Replace the upholstery pad.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install upholstery covering to the pad.
  2. • Position upholstery covering.
    • Install the 11 upholstery clamps.
  3. Install the pad with upholstery covering.
  4. • Insert the pad with upholstery covering.
    • Fasten upholstery covering to the seat mount all the way around.
  5. Install the headrest guide sleeve.
  6. Push the headrest guide sleeve into the front seat backrest until it clicks.

  7. Install the armrest, on vehicles with armrests.
  8. Install the clamp.

    Insert the armrest.

  9. Install the rotary handle, in vehicles with lumbar support.
  10. Push on the handle.

  11. Install the front seat backrest. Refer to Front Seat Back Replacement .
