DTC Descriptor

DTC P0610 : Control Module Vehicle Options Incorrect

Circuit/System Description

This diagnostic verifies that the engine control module (ECM) is programmed for the correct vehicle options.

Conditions for Running the DTC

The ignition is ON.

Conditions for Setting the DTC

The ECM detects that programming for vehicle options is incorrect.

Action Taken When the DTC Sets

DTC P0610 is a Type A DTC.

Conditions for Clearing the MIL/DTC

DTC P0610 is a Type A DTC.

Circuit/System Verification

  1. View the stored DTCs with a scan tool. DTC P0610 should not be current.
  2. Operate the vehicle within the Conditions for Running the DTC. You may also operate the vehicle within the conditions that you observed from the Freeze Frame/Failure Records data.

Circuit/System Testing

  1. Program the ECM. Refer to Control Module References.
  2. Clear DTCs with a scan tool.
  3. Ignition OFF, allow the ECM to completely power down.
  4. Operate the vehicle within the Conditions for Running and Setting DTC P0610.
  5. Verify with a scan tool that DTC P0610 has run and passed.
  6. If DTC P0610 does not pass, replace the ECM.
