Makes 🢒 Saturn 🢒 2003 🢒 ION 🢒 Brakes 🢒 Antilock Brake System 🢒 Brake Pressure Modulator Valve Bracket Replacement

Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 890987 Size: SH
  1. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.
  2. Release the electronic brake control module (EBCM) wiring harness retainer from the brake pressure modulator valve (BPMV) bracket.

    3. Object Number: 890990 Size: SH
  3. Loosen the 2 insulator nuts (1) on the BPMV assembly.
  4. Carefully lift the brake modulator assembly just enough to clear the bracket, then support the assembly.

    5. Object Number: 891778 Size: SH
  5. Release the forward lamp wiring harness from the BPMV bracket.

    6. Object Number: 890992 Size: SH
  6. Remove the brake pressure modulator assembly bracket mounting nut and mounting bolts.
  7. Remove the bracket from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 890992 Size: SH
  1. Install the BPMV assembly bracket to the vehicle.

    2. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  2. Install the brake pressure modulator assembly bracket mounting nut and mounting bolts.

    3. Tighten

        • Tighten the nut to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).
        • Tighten the bolts to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).

  3. Secure the forward lamp wiring harness retainer to the BPMV bracket.

    4. Object Number: 890990 Size: SH
  4. Install the brake modulator assembly to the bracket.
  5. Tighten the 2 brake pressure modulator assembly insulator nuts (1).

    6. Tighten
    Tighten the nuts to 8 N·m (71 lb in).

  6. Secure the EBCM wiring harness retainer to the BPMV bracket.
