Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 877771  Size: SH
  1. Pull out on the accessory trim plate in order to release the retaining fasteners.

  2. Object Number: 877774  Size: SH
  3. Disconnect the accessory trim plate electrical connector(s).

  4. Object Number: 873751  Size: SH
  5. Remove the screws from the radio and pull the radio out.

  6. Object Number: 873752  Size: SH
  7. Disconnect the radio electrical connectors and remove the radio.

  8. Object Number: 873745  Size: SH

    Important: Do not bend the mode and temperature cables.

  9. Disconnect the mode and temperature cables from the HVAC control assembly.

  11. Disconnect the HVAC control assembly electrical connectors.

  13. Remove the HVAC control assembly screws and remove the HVAC control assembly.
  14. If equipped with cruise control, remove the cruise control module from the brake pedal bracket. Refer to Cruise Control Module Replacement in Cruise Control.

    Important: Do not bend the mode cable.

  16. Remove the mode cable screw and remove the mode cable.

Installation Procedure

    Important: Do not bend the mode cable.

  1. Install the mode cable. Make certain that the cable is properly seated in the notch in the HVAC module.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the mode cable screw.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the screw to 2 N·m (18 lb in).

  5. If equipped with cruise control, install the cruise control module to the brake pedal bracket. Refer to Cruise Control Module Replacement in Cruise Control.

  7. Install the HVAC control assembly.
  8. Install the HVAC control assembly screws.
  9. Tighten
    Tighten the screws to 2.5 N·m (22 lb in).

    Important: Do not bend the mode and temperature cables.

  10. Connect the mode and temperature cables to the HVAC control assembly.

  12. Connect the HVAC control assembly electrical connectors.

  14. Place the radio in the vehicle and connect the radio electrical connectors.

  15. Object Number: 873751  Size: SH
  16. Push the radio into position.
  17. Install the radio screws.
  18. Tighten
    Tighten the screws to 2.5 N·m (22 lb in).

  19. Connect the accessory trim plate electrical connector(s).

  20. Object Number: 877771  Size: SH
  21. Align the retaining fasteners with the I/P.
  22. Push on the outer edge of the accessory trim plate in order to secure the retaining fasteners.
