Did you perform the Lighting System Diagnostic System Check?

  1. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
  2. Place the hazard switch to the ON position.

Do all of the turn signal lamps flash on and off?

Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections in Wiring Systems

Go to Step 3

Operate the left and right turn signals.

Do the turn signals operate properly?

Go to Step 4

Go to Turn Signal Lamps and/or Indicators Inoperative

  1. Disconnect the hazard switch.
  2. Connect a 3 amp fused jumper wire between the turn/hazard request circuit of the hazard switch connector and a good ground.

Do all of the turn signal lamps flash on and off?

Go to Step 5

Connect a 3 amp fused jumper wire between the turn/hazard request circuit of the hazard switch connector and the ground circuit of the hazard switch connector.

Do all of the turn signal lamps flash on and off?

Go to Step 6

Inspect for poor connections at the harness connector of the hazard switch. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you find and correct the condition?

Go to Step 10

Repair an open or high resistance in the turn/hazard request circuit between splice 270 and the hazard switch. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you complete the repair?

Go to Step 10

Repair an open or high resistance in the ground circuit of the hazard switch. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you complete the repair?

Go to Step 10

Replace the hazard switch. Refer to Hazard Warning Switch Replacement .

Did you complete the replacement?

Go to Step 10

Operate the system in order to verify the repair.

Did you correct the condition?
