Purpose
All vehicles produced by Saturn Corporation have Ultra Violet (UV) dye added to the R-134a refrigerant system during the assembly process. The PAG oil is the UV dye carrier and circulates the dye in the system. As long as all the PAG oil has not escaped from the system, the dye will still be present. IF the R-134a refrigerant is evacuated or is lost due to a leak, the dye still remains in the system. Adding dye to the A/C system is not necessary.
