Removal Procedure

  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.

  2. Object Number: 879141  Size: SH
  3. Disconnect the electrical connector from the evaporative emission (EVAP) canister vent solenoid valve.
  4. Clean away any debris that may be present around the EVAP canister vent valve.

  5. Object Number: 889739  Size: SH
  6. Remove the EVAP canister retaining bolt (1).
  7. Lower the EVAP canister.

  8. Object Number: 889735  Size: SH
  9. Rotate the EVAP canister vent valve counterclockwise to release from the locked position.

  10. Object Number: 889736  Size: SH
  11. Remove the vent valve from the EVAP canister.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 889736  Size: SH
  1. Insert the EVAP canister vent solenoid valve into the EVAP canister, with the valve aligned to the released position.

  2. Object Number: 889735  Size: SH
  3. Rotate vent valve clockwise to secure into the locked position.
  4. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 889739  Size: SH
  5. Install the EVAP canister and retaining bolt (1).
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

  7. Connect the electrical connector to the EVAP canister vent valve.
  8. Lower the vehicle.
