Clutch Actuator Cylinder Replacement Getrag 5 Speed

Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 851233  Size: SH
  1. Disconnect the clutch actuator cylinder line.
  2. Remove the transmission. Refer to Transmission Replacement in Manual Transmission -  M86/M94 Getrag.

  3. Object Number: 621539  Size: SH
  4. Remove the clutch actuator cylinder bolts from the transmission.

  5. Object Number: 621542  Size: SH
  6. Remove the following components from the transmission:
  7. • The upper bolt
    • The clutch actuator cylinder

Installation Procedure

Important: Excessive amounts of lubricant on the input shaft splines can contaminate the clutch disc and cause clutch shudder.

  1. Lubricate the inside diameter of the bearing with Saturn P/N 21005995, or equivalent.
  2. Install the clutch actuator cylinder to the transmission.
  3. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 621539  Size: SH
  4. Install the clutch actuator cylinder bolts
  5. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 10 N·m (89 lb in).


    Object Number: 621542  Size: SH
  6. Install the upper line release bolt.
  7. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

  8. Install the transmission. Refer to Transmission Replacement in Manual Transmission - M86/M94 Getrag.

  9. Object Number: 851233  Size: SH
  10. Connect the clutch actuator cylinder line.
  11. Bleed the hydraulic system. Refer to Hydraulic Clutch Bleeding .

Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 895540  Size: SH
  1. Remove the transaxle. Refer Transmission Replacement .
  2. Remove the hydraulic line from the slave cylinder.

Installation Procedure

    Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 895540  Size: SH
  1. Install the slave cylinder. Use LOCTITE 592® P/N 21485278 thread sealant on the screws.
  2. Tighten
    Tighten the slave cylinder fasteners to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

  3. Connect the hydraulic line to the slave cylinder.
  4. Bleed the slave cylinder. Refer to Hydraulic Clutch Bleeding .
  5. Install the transaxle. Refer to Transmission Replacement .
