Clutch Actuator Cylinder Replacement Getrag 5 Speed
Removal Procedure
- Disconnect the clutch actuator cylinder line.
- Remove the transmission. Refer to
Transmission Replacement
in Manual
Transmission - M86/M94 Getrag.
- Remove the clutch actuator cylinder bolts from the
transmission.
- Remove the following components from the transmission:

Installation Procedure
Important: Excessive amounts of lubricant on the input
shaft splines can contaminate the clutch disc and cause clutch shudder.
- Lubricate the inside diameter of the bearing with Saturn P/N 21005995,
or equivalent.
- Install the clutch actuator cylinder to the transmission.
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.
- Install the clutch actuator cylinder bolts
Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 10 N·m (89 lb in).
- Install the upper line release bolt.
Tighten
Tighten the bolt to 10 N·m (89 lb in).
- Install the transmission. Refer to
Transmission Replacement
in Manual
Transmission - M86/M94 Getrag.
- Connect the clutch actuator cylinder line.
- Bleed the hydraulic system. Refer to
Hydraulic Clutch Bleeding
.

Removal Procedure
- Remove the transaxle. Refer
Transmission Replacement
.
- Remove the hydraulic line from the slave cylinder.
Installation Procedure
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.
- Install the slave cylinder. Use LOCTITE 592® P/N 21485278
thread sealant on the screws.
Tighten
Tighten the slave cylinder fasteners to 10 N·m
(89 lb in).
- Connect the hydraulic line to the slave cylinder.
- Bleed the slave cylinder. Refer to
Hydraulic Clutch Bleeding
.
- Install the transaxle. Refer to
Transmission Replacement
.
