Headlamp Housing Panel Replacement Sedan

Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the headlamp assembly. Refer to Headlamp Assembly or Headlamp Bulb and/or Cornering, Sidemarker, Park, Turn Signal Bulb Replacement in Lighting Systems.

  2. Object Number: 864101  Size: SH
  3. Remove the plastic retainers that connect the upper grille to the headlamp panel.
  4. Remove the ambient air temperature sensor. Refer to Ambient Air Temperature Sensor Replacement in Stationary Windows.
  5. Remove the retaining bolts from the headlamp mounting panel.
  6. Rotate the headlamp mounting panel through the headlamp opening. Remove the headlamp mounting panel from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 864101  Size: SH
  1. Position the headlamp mounting panel to the vehicle.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the retaining bolts to the headlamp mounting panel.
  4. Tighten

        • Tighten the upper tie bar bolts to 10 N·m (89 lb in).
        • Tighten the fender bolts to 8 N·m (71 lb in).
  5. Install the ambient air temperature sensor. Refer to Ambient Air Temperature Sensor Replacement in Stationary Windows.
  6. Install the plastic retainers that connect the upper grille to the headlamp panel.
  7. Install the headlamp assembly. Refer to Headlamp Assembly or Headlamp Bulb and/or Cornering, Sidemarker, Park, Turn Signal Bulb Replacement in Lighting Systems.

Removal Procedure

  3. Object Number: 864102  Size: SH
  4. Remove the retaining bolts from the headlamp mounting panel.
  5. Remove the headlamp mounting panel from the vehicle.

  4. Tighten
