Removal Procedure

  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
  2. Remove the front fascia. Refer to Front Bumper Fascia Replacement .
  3. Remove the energy absorber. Refer to Front Bumper Fascia Energy Absorber Replacement .

  4. Object Number: 863855  Size: SH
  5. Remove the electrical harness clip from the impact bar.

  6. Object Number: 864051  Size: SH
  7. Remove the nuts that secure the impact bar to the lower tie bar.
  8. Remove the impact bar from the lower tie bar.

Installation Procedure

  1. Position the impact bar to the lower tie bar.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the nuts to the impact bar.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the nuts to 30 N·m (22 lb ft).

  5. Install the electrical harness clip to the impact bar.
  6. Install the energy absorber. Refer to Front Bumper Fascia Energy Absorber Replacement .
  7. Install the front fascia. Refer to Front Bumper Fascia Replacement .
  8. Lower the vehicle.
