Removal Procedure

    Caution: Use care when working around the roof rail inflator module because sharp objects may puncture the roof rail airbag and the airbag will not deploy correctly.

    In order to avoid personal injury, if any part of the module is damaged replace the entire module

  1. Using a small, flat-bladed tool, remove the fastener trim cover.
  2. Remove the screw from the windshield garnish molding.
  3. Disengage the retaining clips by pulling on the garnish molding.
  4. Lift the bottom of the molding out from between the windshield pillar and the instrument panel. Remove the molding from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure

  1. Position the windshield garnish molding in the vehicle. Install the molding by pushing the molding over the clip locations.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the screw to the windshield garnish molding.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the screw to 2.3 N·m (21 lb in).

  5. Install the fastener trim cover.
  6. Replace the door seal over the trim edge.
