Windshield Wiper Motor Replacement for Saturn ION 2006

Removal Procedure
  1. Remove the air inlet grille panel. Refer to Air Inlet Grille Panel Replacement in Body Front End.
  2. Remove the wiper drive system module. Refer to Windshield Wiper System Module Replacement .
  3. Remove the wiper crank arm nut. Remove the wiper crank arm from the wiper motor.

    4. Object Number: 1235608 Size: SH
  4. Remove the wiper motor screws.
  5. Remove the wiper motor from the wiper drive system module.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 1235608 Size: SH

    Important: Cycle the wiper motor before installing to ensure the motor is in the PARK position.

  1. Position the wiper motor to the wiper drive system module.

    2. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  2. Install the wiper motor screws.

    3. Tighten
    Tighten the screws to 8 N·m (71 lb in).

  3. Install the wiper motor crank arm and crank arm nut.

    4. Tighten
    Tighten the screws to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).

  4. Install the wiper drive system module. Refer to Windshield Wiper System Module Replacement .
  5. Install the air inlet grille panel. Refer to Air Inlet Grille Panel Replacement in Body Front End.
