    Important: The 4T40-E/4T45-E non-Electronic Range Select Mode models use a spacer plate with 2 identification notches. The 4T45-E models with Electronic Range Select Mode use a spacer plate with 1 identification notch.

  1. Install the control valve body to spacer plate gasket (22) onto the spacer plate (23).
  2. Install the control valve body assembly (18) onto the gasket (22).

  3. Object Number: 1205824  Size: SH
  4. Inspect the TFP switch assembly (13) in order to verify the condition and correct location of the 4 pressure switch O-rings.
  5. If necessary replace the pressure switch O-rings.

  6. Object Number: 1205810  Size: SH
  7. Install the TFP switch assembly (13) onto the control valve body assembly.

  8. Object Number: 1205826  Size: SH
  9. Install the 18 control valve body assembly bolts.

  10. Object Number: 20876  Size: SH

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  11. Hand start the bolts.
  12. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 14 N·m (124 lb in).

  1. Install the control valve body to spacer plate gasket (22) onto the spacer plate (23). Some models use a spacer plate with bonded gaskets (90).
  2. Install the control valve body assembly (18) onto the gasket (22) or spacer plate with bonded gaskets (90).

  4. Inspect the transmission fluid pressure (TFP) switch assembly (13) in order to verify the condition and correct location of the 4 pressure switch O-rings.
  5. If necessary replace the pressure switch O-rings.

  7. Install the TFP switch assembly (13) onto the control valve body assembly.

  8. Object Number: 1205826  Size: SH
  9. Install the 18 control valve body assembly bolts.

  10. Object Number: 20876  Size: SH
