The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.
Condition/Concern:
A technician may find the lower door seals loose or missing, causing a complaint of excessive road or wind noise.
Recommendation/Instructions:
Inspect the seals on all doors. Any seals that are loose or missing will need to be replaced. Remove any loose lower door seals, and clean the attaching area with Acrysol, rubbing alcohol or equivalent. Install the new seals, applying firm pressure to get good adhesion to the door.
The seals were deleted in production after VIN 6Z271704. Vehicles built after this VIN does not need to have seals installed.
Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
