Upshift Indicator: The instrument panel cluster (IPC) illuminates the shift indicator when the engine control module (ECM)/powertrain control module (PCM) determines that the vehicle should be shifted to the next higher gear.

CHG. OIL

Change Engine Oil: The DIC displays this message when the ECM/PCM detects that the engine oil needs to be changed.

CHK GAGE

Check Gages: The instrument panel cluster (IPC) illuminates the check gages indicator when the ECM/PCM detects that the coolant temperature is over 123°C (253°F).

COOLANT

Coolant Level Low: Refer to Cooling System Description and Operation

CRUISE

Cruise: Refer to Cruise Control Description and Operation

ERROR

Error: Refer to Data Link Communications Description and Operation

LOW FUEL

Low Fuel Level: The instrument panel cluster (IPC) illuminates the low fuel indicator when the ECM detects that the fuel level is below 10 percent.

LOW TRAC

Low Traction: Refer to ABS Description and Operation

OIL LIFE

Oil Life: The instrument panel cluster (IPC) displays the OIL LIFE message. When this message is displayed, the oil life monitor in the engine control module (ECM)/powertrain control module (PCM) can be reset by holding the trip reset button for a few seconds.

PWR STR

Power Steering: Refer to Power Steering System Description and Operation

RESET

Reset: The instrument panel cluster (IPC) displays the RESET message after the engine control module has reset the engine oil life.

SERVICE VEHICLE

Service Vehicle: The instrument panel cluster (IPC) displays the SERVICE VEHICLE message when it receives a request from any module because of a non-emission related problem.
