Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 892349  Size: SH
  1. Remove the upper trim finish panel from the front door. Refer to Upper Extension Trim Panel Replacement .
  2. Remove the rear mirror sound absorber.
  3. Loosen the mirror nuts.

  4. Object Number: 866028  Size: SH
  5. Remove the retaining screw at the rear of the outer belt seal.
  6. Important: A putty knife with the blade covered with tape may be needed to gently pry the belt seal from the flange.

  7. To remove the belt seal, carefully lift on the belt seal, beginning at the rear and working forward.

Installation Procedure

  1. Slide the forward end of the outer belt seal beneath the mirror.
  2. Align the rear of the belt seal with the attaching screw hole.
  3. Beginning at the rear of the belt seal, push the belt seal down onto the flange until the belt seal is fully seated.
  4. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  5. Install the outer belt seal retaining screw.
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the outer belt seal fastener to 2 N·m (18 lb in).

  7. Tighten the mirror nuts.
  8. Tighten
    Tighten the outside rear view mirror nuts to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

  9. Install the rear view mirror sound absorber.
  10. Install the upper trim finish panel to the front door. Refer to Upper Extension Trim Panel Replacement .
