The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.

Due to numerous different DTCs that can be set, this PI may be a good starting point when diagnosing any particular DTC.

Some customers may complain of numerous different Driveability/Tachometer complaints which may be accompanied with different DTCs. It has been determined that the main wiring harness, is routed passed the aluminum oil filter housing (at the plastic cap) and has the potential to make contact with the oil filter housing. If the wiring in the engine harness comes out of the conduit it could chafe on the aluminum oil filter housing.

Repair chafed in wire harness. Push all wires back into conduit of wire harness assembly. Wrap engine harness conduit with electrical tape in the area where it may contact the aluminum oil filter housing to keep the wires from coming out of the conduit.

Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
