Auxiliary Coolant Pump Will Not Connect to Replacement Radiator - kw 03-01-38-007 water hose

The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom described in the PI.

Technician is not able to connect the auxiliary coolant pump to a replacement radiator.

Discard the auxiliary coolant pump and hoses - no longer used.

The auxiliary coolant pump was no longer used after 2001 MY. The first design radiator was replaced by a second design radiator that does not have provisions to install the auxiliary coolant pump. TSB 03-01-38-007 discusses the elimination of the auxiliary coolant pump when the pump fails - install heater inlet elbow assembly.

Please follow this diagnosis process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed. If these steps do not resolve the condition, please contact GM TAC for further diagnostic assistance.
