🢒 Surge Tank Hose/Pipe Replacement
Surge Tank Hose/Pipe Replacement Vent Hose
Removal Procedure
Loosen the air outlet duct to throttle body clamp.
Remove the air outlet bracket to cylinder head nut and lift the duct off the throttle body.
Remove the vent hose to surge tank clamp.
Remove the vent hose to cylinder head port clamp and the hose from the port.
Unclip the vent hose from the fuel rail and remove the hose assembly.
Installation Procedure
Clip the vent hose assembly to the fuel rail.
Install the vent hose to cylinder head port and clamp. Position the clamp at the 7 o'clock position.
Install the vent hose to the surge tank port and clamp. Position the clamp at the 12 o'clock position.
Install the air duct, and tighten the throttle body clamp.
Install the duct bracket to cylinder head nut.
Surge Tank Hose/Pipe Replacement Return Hose - L81
Removal Procedure
Disconnect the negative battery cable.
Drain the coolant. Refer to
Draining Coolant
.
Remove the return hose to surge tank clamp and remove the hose from the surge tank.
Open the engine harness clip and push the harness upwards to allow access to the hose clamp.
Remove the return hose to block fitting clamp.
Cut the harness to the return hose "tyrap" and remove the return hose.
Installation Procedure
Install and position the return hose to surge tank fitting and block the fitting.
Install the return hose to the block fitting clamp at the 1 o'clock position.
Install the return hose to the surge tank clamp at the 2 o'clock position.
Install the engine wiring harness into the retainer clip and snap closed.
Tyrap engine harness to the return hose.
Connect the negative battery cable.
Tighten
Tighten the battery terminal bolts to 17 N·m (13 lb ft).
Fill the cooling system. Refer to
Coolant Replacement
.
Use fresh water to rinse away any coolant that was spilled during the service.
