J 43650 Balance Shaft Bearing Remover/Installer


    Object Number: 897467  Size: SH
  1. Install the balance shaft bushing using the J 43650 .

  2. Object Number: 897465  Size: SH
  3. Seat the balance shaft bushing into the bore using the J 43650 and a wrench.
  4. When the J 43650 is fully seated in the engine block, remove it with a wrench.

  5. Object Number: 895529  Size: SH

    Important: If the balance shafts are not properly timed to the engine, the engine may vibrate or make noise.

    Important: Install the balance shaft assemblies to the engine using the following steps:

  6. Place the number one piston at top dead center (TDC).
  7. Install the balance shaft drive chain sprocket on the crankshaft
  8. Install the balance shafts into their bores.
  9. Install the balance shaft retaining bolts.
  10. Tighten
    Tighten the balance shaft retaining bolts to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

  11. Align the arrow on the exhaust sprocket with the notch on the carrier. The arrow should point down.

  12. Object Number: 897590  Size: SH
  13. Align the arrow on the intake sprocket with the notch on the carrier. The arrow should point up.
