1. Place the height adjuster to the lowest position.
2. Remove the center pillar weatherstrip/cover to expose the adjuster attaching fasteners.

Important: Care must be taken not to drop the fasteners in the center pillar structure.




3. Remove the shoulder belt height adjuster fasteners.



4. Starting at the top, pull inward to partially remove the center pillar upper and lower trim moldings.



5. Pull on height adjuster to disengage attaching clip.



6. Pull on height adjuster to release the pin and remove from the height adjuster.



7. Temporarily install height aduster onto center pillar.

Hand tighten the fasteners.




8. Remove the shoulder belt fastener from the height adjuster.




Important: Care must be taken not to drop the fasteners in the center pillar structure.

9. Remove the fasteners and remove the height adjuster.

Important: Apply Loctite 242 ® (or equivalent) on all restraint fasteners prior to installation.

1. Temporarily install shoulder belt height adjuster to the center pillar. Hand tighten, but do not torque the fasteners.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.




2. Install the top of the shoulder belt assembly to the height adjuster with the shoulder belt fastener.

Tighten
Tighten the shoulder belt-to-height adjuster bolt to 29 N·m (21 lb ft).





Important: Care must be taken not to drop the fasteners in the center pillar structure.

3. Remove the height adjuster fasteners and remove the height adjuster from the center pillar.



4. Align the height adjuster lower hole to the hinged retainer clip and snap the adjuster into the clip.



5. Align the height adjuster upper retaining pins into the slider assembly and snap the adjuster into place.



6. If the shoulder belt has come off the belt guide, install the shoulder belt behind the shoulder belt guide.



7. Install the upper B-pillar molding and fastener, then install the plug.

Tighten
Tighten the B-pillar fastener to 10 N·m (89 lb in).




8. Install the height adjuster fasteners.

Tighten
Tighten the height adjuster fasteners to 35 N·m (26 lb ft).




9. Install the center pillar outside weatherstrip.



10. Position the door weatherstrip over the center pillar molding
11. Function the shoulder belt height adjuster for the proper operation.
