Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 881410 Size: SH
  1. Move the front seat to a forward position.
  2. Remove the carpet retainer molding in the area surrounding the center pillar lower molding by pulling at the attaching clip locations.

    3. Object Number: 896867 Size: SH
  3. Using a trim tool, remove the outside center pillar weatherstrip.

    4. Object Number: 897246 Size: SH

    Important: Care must be taken not to drop fasteners in the center pillar structure.

  4. Remove the shoulder belt height adjuster fasteners.

    5. Object Number: 897238 Size: SH

    Important: Care must be taken not to drop fasteners in the center pillar structure.

  5. Remove the shoulder belt retractor fastener access plug.
  6. Remove the shoulder belt retractor fastener.

    7. Object Number: 897213 Size: SH

    Important: Upper and lower moldings will stay attached to each other while being removed.

    Important: Shoulder belt assembly and height adjuster unit will stay attached to the center pillar upper and lower moldings when the moldings are removed.

  7. Starting at the top, gently pull on the center pillar upper molding to disengage the attaching clips.
  8. Remove the B-pillar molding plug and fastener.
  9. Pull on the center pillar lower molding to disengage the attaching clips.

  10. Remove shoulder belt from the shoulder belt retainer.

    11. Object Number: 896755 Size: SH
  11. Remove the safety belt guide fastener and remove the guide.

Installation Procedure

    Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 896755 Size: SH
  1. Install safety belt guide with fastener.

    2. Tighten
    Tighten the safety guide fasteners to 1.5 N·m(13 lb in).

  2. Position the shoulder belt behind the shoulder belt retainer.

    3. Object Number: 897213 Size: SH
  3. Attach the center pillar molding assemblies to the vehicle by firmly by pushing at the clip locations.
  4. Install the B-pillar molding fastener and plug.

    5. Tighten
    Tighten the B-pillar molding fastener to 10 N·m (89 lb in).


    Object Number: 897238 Size: SH
  5. Install the retractor fastener.

    6. Tighten
    Tighten the retractro fastener to 35 N·m (26 lb ft).

  6. Install the retractor plug.

    7. Object Number: 897246 Size: SH
  7. Install the height adjuster fasteners.

    8. Tighten
    Tighten the height adjuster fasteners 35 N·m (26 lb ft).

  8. Install the center pillar outside weatherstrip.

    9. Object Number: 881410 Size: SH
  9. Install the carpet retainer by gently pushing at the attaching clip locations.

    10. Object Number: 896325 Size: SH
  10. Install the weatherstrip over the center pillar lower molding and the rocker panel molding using a flat blade tool.
  11. Function the shoulder belt to ensure the proper operation.
  12. Place the front seat in the original position.
