Seat Belt Retractor Replacement - Rear Outer Sedan

1. Pull on the rear seat cushion retainer straps while pulling up on the rear seat cushion to disengage the rear seat cushion from the floor.
2. Remove the rear seat cushion from the vehicle.



3. Remove the rear seat bolster.

•	Reach down into the corner of the rear seat cushion to expose the bolster retaining tab.

•	Bend the bolster retaining tab upward.

•	Lower the rear seat back.

•	Starting at the bottom, pull forward to disengage the bolster from the retaining tab then pull upward to disengage the upper attachment.




4. Remove the rear seat shoulder belt upper fastener cover to expose the rear seat shoulder belt upper fastener.
5. Remove the shoulder belt upper fastener.



6. Slide the shoulder belt out of the C-pillar trim panel slot.



7. Remove the rear seat shoulder belt to the floor fastener.



8. Partially remove the rear compartment side trim to expose the rear seat shoulder belt retractor fastener.
9. Remove the rear seat shoulder belt retractor fastener and remove the retractor.

Caution: Refer to Loctite Threadlocker on Restraint Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

1. Install the rear seat shoulder belt retractor to the vehicle with the retractor fasteners.

Tighten
Tighten the rear retractor-to-vehicle bolt to 35 N·m (26 lb ft).

2. Install the rear seat shoulder belt to the floor with the shoulder belt fastener.

Tighten
Tighten the rear shoulder belt-to-floor bolt to 35 N·m (26 lb ft).

3. Install the rear compartment side trim.



4. Route the rear seat shoulder belt through the C-pillar trim panel slot.
5. Install the rear seat shoulder belt to the C-pillar.

Tighten
Tighten the rear shoulder belt-to-C-pillar bolt to 35 N·m (26 lb ft).

6. Install the rear seat shoulder belt upper fastener cover.




Caution: Make sure the rear seat shoulder belt is not caught behind the bolster when installing the bolster.

7. Install the rear seat bolster.

•	Position the bolster onto the upper bolster attachment.

•	Push down on the bolster to engage the upper attachment and push the bolster back over the retaining tab.

•	Bend the retaining tab down to fasten the bolster.

•	Raise the rear seat back.




8. Position the rear seat cushion into the vehicle.
9. Route the center seat belts through the seat cushion openings.
10. Snap the rear seat cushion into the attaching retainers.
11. Pull up on the seat to ensure the seat is properly installed.



12. If a new rear seat shoulder belt has been installed, remove the shipping clip from the shoulder belt webbing.
13. Function the rear seat shoulder belt to ensure proper operation.

Seat Belt Retractor Replacement - Rear Outer Wagon

1. Pull on the rear seat cushion retainer straps while pulling up on the rear seat cushion to disengage the rear seat cushion from the floor.
2. Remove the rear seat cushion from the vehicle.



3. Remove the rear seat bolster.

•	Reach down into the corner of the rear seat cushion to expose the bolster retaining tab.

•	Bend the bolster retaining tab upward.

•	Lower the rear seat back.

•	Starting at the bottom, pull forward to disengage the bolster from the retaining tab then pull upward to disengage the upper attachment.




4. Remove the child comfort guide from the shoulder belt.
5. Remove the rear seat shoulder belt to the floor fastener.



6. Remove the rear seat shoulder belt upper fastener cover to expose the rear seat shoulder belt upper fastener.
7. Remove the rear shoulder belt upper fastener.



8. Remove the cargo cover by sliding the cover retractor unit towards the right side of the vehicle and lifting up on the retractor unit.



9. Remove the cargo area side trim by pulling at the clip locations



10. Partially remove the cargo area carpet to expose the rear seat shoulder belt retractor fastener access hole.
11. Remove the rear seat shoulder belt retractor fastener and remove the retractor.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

Caution: Apply Loctite 242® Threadlocker US P/N 12345382 (Canadian P/N 10953489), or equivalent, on all restraint bolts/nuts before installation. Failure to use such threadlocker correctly may result in personal injury.

1. Install the rear seat shoulder belt to the C-pillar with the shoulder belt upper fastener.

Tighten
Tighten the rear retractor-to-vehicle bolt to 35 N·m(26 lb ft).




2. Install the rear seat shoulder belt to the C-pillar with the shoulder belt upper fastener.

Tighten
Tighten the rear shoulder belt-to-C-pillar bolt to 35 N·m (26 lb ft).

3. Snap the rear seat shoulder belt upper fastener cover to the shoulder belt.



4. Install the rear seat shoulder belt to the floor with the shoulder belt fastener.

Tighten
Tighten the rear shoulder belt-to-floor bolts to 35 N·m (26 lb ft).

5. Install the cargo area carpet.



6. Install the cargo area side trim by pushing at the clip locations.



7. Position the weatherstrip over the cargo side trim.




Important: Make sure the rear seat shoulder belt is not caught behind the bolster when installing the bolster.

8. Install the rear seat bolster.

•	Position the bolster onto the upper bolster attachment.

•	Push down on the bolster to engage the upper attachment and push the bolster back over the retaining tab.

•	Bend the retaining tab down to fasten the bolster.




9. Install cargo cover.



10. Raise the rear seat back.
11. Position the rear seat cushion into the vehicle.
12. Route the center seat belts through the rear seat cushion openings.
13. Snap the rear seat cushion into the attaching retainers.
14. Pull up on the seat to ensure the seat is properly installed.



15. If a new rear seat shoulder belt has been installed, remove the shipping clip from the shoulder belt webbing.
16. Install the child comfort guide to the shoulder belt.
17. Function the rear seat shoulder belt to ensure the proper operation.
